In 2010 Dr. Mihelic was the orthopedic surgeon on call after I suffered a severe compound fracture of my right forearm from a freak accident at home late at night. Being that it was a compound fracture I needed emergency surgery due to the high potential of infection.
Meeting Dr. Mihelic for the first time in the wee hours of the morning, I was impressed by his gentle low key demeanor which immediately allayed my fear and apprehension. Dr. Mihelic demonstrated his mettle as a skilled surgeon repairing the jigsaw puzzle that was my arm. He even commented later that the force and impact of the injury was more like what is seen in the military than a typical home accident.
The whole ordeal went very smoothly. His office staff was very supportive and always upbeat and friendly. All in all a great team. I never suffered an infection or any complications and returned to my work as a Dental Hygienist, with full function and minimal deficits.
If I should encounter another orthopedic incident, Dr. Mihelic will be my go to guy. I trust him implicitly and I know I will receive Cadillac care.

Two weeks later, I was driving myself to rehab; at four weeks I was riding my road bike several miles each morning; and at 7 1/2 weeks, I played 18 holes of golf with no knee pain. Further, today, as I write this at not quite eight weeks, I rode my bike 10 miles and pain free!
Look forward to replacing the right knee for my 70th. birthday.
